Who said chaos theory?

I know very little about the giant heavenly bodies above us; however, it is in the caos theory where I find an attempt to explain what happens to us. I'd love to quote something that briefly describes what this theory's about:

"Chaos theory attempts to explain the fact that complex and unpredictable results can and will occur in systems that are sensitive to their initial conditions. A common example of this is known as the Butterfly Effect. It states that, in theory, the flutter of a butterfly's wings in China could, in fact, actually effect weather patterns in New York City, thousands of miles away. In other words, it is possible that a very small occurance can produce unpredictable and sometimes drastic results by triggering a series of increasingly significant events."

I loved the title it was made up for someone's discovery on a snake-like caterpillar as much as its attached story, so enchanting and captivating as the story teller. Our life plan, indeed, is liable to change, and it focuses mainly on our decisions (free will) and their consequences (third Newton's law of motion), but perhaps the real motive for us being in this world would be to learn from our mistakes in order to achieve a spiritual evolution. I firmly believe that what is known as 'soul' is basically a bunch of energy that cannot be created or destroyed, only converted from one form to another (first law of thermodynamics), so it is therefore logical that we come back as other forms of matter just to 'pay' for our mistakes. This is something I'm still learning about, and probably will never finish off learning.
